Moving on from Singapore, we did the exact opposite thing everyone tells you to do: we went straight to the beach of Patong in Phuket. We knew this was a bad idea from the start since we are not big drinkers or party goers particularly. But I thought it would be good to check out if only to know what it is like. We are here for three nights and then moving north to less party driven towns.
Patong actually reminds me of the story in Pinocchio when they go to The Land Of Play and start turning into donkeys. It strikes me that this town is The Land Of Play and if you asked anyone on the street, they would agree without reservation or thought about why that all means.
