The Mellow bungalows are basic accommodations in Mui Ne. We stayed there for three nights for a higher price than we originally were hoping to pay: $20 a night for a double bed with hot shower. Wifi wasn’t really available as advertised (you had to steal it from the neighbors at the front of the hotel) and breakfast wasn’t included.
Mui Ne beach is designed without much consideration for public access. You have to sneak through one of the many kite surfing schools to get to the beach or stay at a beach facing resort. Mellow bungalows is not on the beach which is one good reason why it’s cheap.
The bungalows are packed with kite surfers who appreciate a cheap bed and some beer. That’s what you get here and little else. If you are looking for basic accommodation and plan on spending a lot of time on the water, then the Bungalows are a good bet. If you want to lounge and share a drink on the beach however, you will need to upgrade to a resort on the beach side.
