Phnom Penh: Europe Guesthouse

Europe Guesthouse is a friendly and inexpensive place in a convenient location of Phnom Penh. It is run by an equally friendly gentleman that speaks good English and can help you with arranging a tour or making a breakfast recommendation. We stayed there mid December in a standard room with double bed, wifi, TV and a paid option for A/C (we opted not and didn’t have any problems). We stayed for 3 nights paying $15 per night. The location is great – right in the heart of the action – and the price was great value. It doesn’t include breakfast but there are a couple of local breakfast options next door that should do you well.

Note that you must email the owner to book a room in advance instead of using one of the common hostel booker sites. He responded quite quickly, however. We would certainly stay again if we travel back to Phnom Penh.

Tip: The guesthouse can arrange pickup at the bus station or airport at fair local rates. Take this option as you may end up paying more negotiating on your own as we did.
