We chose Oral D’Angkor Guesthouse for our visit to Siem Reap based on its stellar reviews on Agoda.com and we weren’t disappointed. A very well-run establishment with an owner that was clearly interested in the comfort of her guests.
We booked a double room, including breakfast, for about US$10. The room was very clean and had a ceiling fan (AC rooms are available for a bit more money) and a TV with a good selection of channels, including a few English stations. Two bottles of water were provided in your room everyday, which was really appreciated in the Cambodian heat. The only small failing we found was the shower, which had low water pressure and no hot water (not a big issue in the heat).
The breakfast was plentiful and included eggs prepared to your liking, tea, coffee, fruits, toast, butter, jam and peanut butter.
What makes Oral D’Angkor stand out is service. The owner was very personable and always happy to help. She got us a tuk tuk to tour Angkor at a reasonable price (US$13 – US$15 depending on whether you do the mini or big tour), rented us bicycles at US$1/day, and booked our onward bus to Phnom Penh (US$6).
If you’re heading to Siem Reap, we gladly recommend Oral D’Angkor Guesthouse. We had a lovely time.
